Minnesota Fall Foliage

These photos are from Maplewood State Park. I took the two youngest girls on a day trip in early October to see God's wonderful Fall splash of colors. They were about 50% changed and gorgeous!

Welcome!

Being in the ministry as a pastor's wife has given me unique opportunities to share my home with others - sometimes many others at one time. During a recent gathering, a couple of dear friends of mine were sitting in my kitchen when one happily said, "I just love coming to your place, it's so comfortable. Maybe it's because it never changes." We all laughed and I said, "You're right, it hasn't been changed since we moved in." And that was 1995!

What is it that makes a house a home? Is it the decor? Or the furnishings? The things we own? No...it's what takes place in that house that makes it a home. But it's not really just the happenings, but how and why those things happen and our reactions to them. It's the joys, the laughter, the dreams, the hugs, the hurts and tears. It's the living that takes place there that makes it a home. And it's the love behind the living that makes it a 'home sweet home.'

You are invited, my friend, to enter my home, my world, and my life as lived from inside the 'glass house' of a preacher's home. I'm not perfect and I don't pretend to be. You'll perhaps see some clutter and dust. You might even get a glimpse of my closets on one of those days I'm brave enough to show you. But hopefully you'll see the love and my Lord - the source of that love - in every room and maybe you'll enjoy the comfort of my home, too.
